Our projects
Smart Region South Bohemia
Smart Region concept originates from the idea of Smart City pioneered by the city of Písek in frame of South Bohemia and in the whole Czech Republic as well. The aim of the smart city concept is developing solutions that would improve life of city inhabitants and make public budget more effective.
One example could be water supply network equipped by sensors to get better supervision on water quantity and quality. The cities thus can more quickly avoid damage in case of water leaks or contamination. It is possible to achieve more effective operation by implementing modern technological solutions, for example public lighting can respond to its surrounding light conditions or catch motions, and illuminate only when it is really needed.
Brief project summary
Advisory body of the South Bohemian Region - committee Smart Region South Bohemia - was established to develop ideas of Smart Region. It endeavours to create partner consortia capable of identifying issues of a key importance for the regional development in a frame of the Smart City concept in South Bohemia.
Based on the identification of the key issues, working groups are formed to analyse present situation more deeply and propose some pilot projects. Currently, there are established four working groups (Clean Mobility, Data, Transportation, and Energy Savings) and more are foreseen.
The committee council is set several times a year in premises of the South Bohemian Science and Technology Park. Current list of the committee members is available on the South Bohemian web page.
