Smart Accelerator in South Bohemia

Smart Accelerator initiative should enable development of innovation environment in particular regions of the Czech Republic using National Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation of the Czech Republic, eventually its relevant regional annexes, and should enable high-quality management of the entrepreneurial discovery process. This process of “entrepreneurial discovering” new opportunities in the region includes private, academic as well as public sector and builds upon endogenous strong features of each region, its entrepreneurship and competitive advantages. Strategies for smart specialisation may unlock the economic transformation through modernisation, diversification, or radical innovation in all regions by capitalising this process.

Project goals

The main goal of the project is to interlink particular regional support tools focused on the innovation development and create an effective innovation system offering comprehensive solution for innovation environment support.

Key areas of changes

Project activities

• Basic team - this activity establishes functional realisation team with the task to provide operation of the newly set innovation system in South Bohemia.
• Educationí - the aim of this activity is to increase expertise of the whole team and regional stakeholders through further training in key topics of the regional development.
• Mapping - this activity ensures ongoing analysis and adjustig the system for monitoring the development of innovation environment in South Bohemia. The result will be identification of new opportunities and fields, which will be further supported in other project activities and will contribute to boosting the reginal competitiveness.
• Assistance - support to preparing strategic projects of public institutions from a grant scheme of the South Bohemia Region.
• Twinning - transfer of the best practice from two foreign institutions and elaboration of two implementation manuals for their transfer to the conditions of South Bohemia.
• Promotion - definition of a new perspective on the regional image, preparation of a marketing and communication stategy and its realisation to promote innovation potential of the region.
